The pandemic and lockdown which has engulfed the entire globe
has brought about a major change in our lives. While some of us preferred to
spend our time binge-watching and catching up on our favourite shows, there
were some who did something more worthwhile. Author Aryeman is one of them, he
seems to have optimised the #lockdown period and emerged a winner of sorts. He
has recently launched not one but two e-books which are based on Mumbai.
#MeMumbaikar managed to review the books, ‘Mumbai’s Top 10 Restaurants – The Fine Dine
Experience’ and ‘Mumbai’s Top 10
Theatre Plays’ and was surprised on the in-depth analysis with which the
author has played with both the themes. The writing is lucid and makes
interesting reading. What we liked the most was that one can actually feel tempted
to try out the dishes (in the food book) and visualise the story theme (in the theatre
book). It is this quality which makes these books stand-out as #goodreads.
Speaking of his future plans, Aryeman concluded, “I had
started writing many books almost a year back and never manage to gain interest
to complete them. Yes, the lockdown mode was an inspiration to do more
meaningful work rather than just binge-watch. As for the forthcoming plans, more
Mumbai based books should follow, possibly a fiction one in the future besides
the regular series. I have always loved the spirit and passion of Mumbaikars. In
fact, one of my short stories on the Lockdown moments is being made as a short
film which would be screened on an OTT platform. This one is a romantic love
story”.
